So, i've finally succumbed to the pressure of my amazing social media girl (Lana Suhova, Darly Rose, click here for more details) to start posting images, tips, advice on my own styling. Not least because I have to rely on my 6 or 8 year old to take a flattering picture as I still haven't managed the art of taking a selfie!
It's a funny one; yes i'm a stylist and attempting to look and be stylish is what I do for a living, but for some reason I can't get my head around people wanting to see pictures of me!
I cringe every time Lana calls me asking me to photograph what i'm wearing that day yet i'm more than happy to create product stills and spend my days giving styling advice to my clients. It just shows you that everyone has their insecurities, bad hair days, bad clothes day and 'bloated tummy' days and i'm no different! But it's time to practice what I preach by embracing my own body shape and showing you guys how I dress for it (just for the record I have big thighs, a small waist, bingo wings, boobs that now look like dogs ears and too many wrinkles to count!). However, what i'm hoping to show you is that by dressing for your shape and following a few styling rules it's very easy to hide all of these lumps and bumps. So here goes...
Skirt £60 and top £26 are both from Next. Necklace from Zara. Shoes (if you can see them) are from French Connection. I wore my Reiss coat over my shoulders for a little bit of glam on arrival. The skirt is great for highlighting the waist and skimming over the thighs. The high neck makes my boob look bigger (with the help of a 2 x padded bra that is!) and the nude heels elongate my legs. That's the theory anyway - hope it's working!
